Know your benefits

My mom was rushed to the ER this week. Hindi ko na explain kung bakit pero ok na siya. She’s taking some meds and on her way to recovery.

So tinanong ko sa kanya kung activated na yung card, and she said no, at tinanong ko kung binasa niya yung policy and other papers na kasama nun . . .

she said no.

Naisip ko tuloy na most of us are like that. When we gave our lives to Christ we know that we have some benefits—we are forgiven of our sins, we are saved from the fires of hell, and we are part of God’s family—these are the basic benefits, pero madaming nakakabit dito na iba pang benefits.

Yes, alam natin ang “grace” pero alam ba natin yung benefits nito? Kapag nagkaroon tayo ng problem do we really believe that God will help us? Kapag malungkot tayo, do we ask God for joy and peace? Kapag kulang ang ating money, do we trust that He will provide? Kapag meron tayong sakit, do we pray and ask for healing?

Do we worry instead of asking and trusting that He’ll do what He has promised? Do we even know His promises in the first place?

Madami pa rin akong hindi alam, that is why I need to read the Bible. The more I know about His promises to us, the more I am at peace that He who gave the promises is faithful to fulfill it.

Stop worrying and start reading the bible—it’s better if we know our benefits.🙂

1Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. 2Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—3who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 4who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, 5who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm  103:1-5)
